So, as we all know from our lower grades most simplified explanation of Gravity as it is a fundamental force of attraction that acts between the two masses and time is a linearly moving fundamental experience period between two events that always moves in the forward direction and also defines the existence of all the things which exits in our universe.
Now let’s visualize Gravity and Time by the Special and General Theory of Relativity. So according to the research, before Albert Einstein proposed his Theories of Relativity, Time was considered constant throughout the universe and the world was believed to have only 3 dimensions: length, Breath, and Height. This is partially correct as the Special Theory of Relativity proposed that humans are three-dimensional beings but they live in Fourth-dimensional World. The fourth dimension is Time and is not constant but relative. Together three dimensions form space and further when time is added as a fourth dimension it is collectively called SPACETIME.
Now, let’s understand why time is not constant but relative. Let us assume hypothetically two persons A and B are standing on Earth and mass respectively. There is a Star that is about 5 light minutes and 10 spare minutes far from both of them respectively. Now, if the Time is constant and the star explodes at 8 in the eve, the explosion should be visible to A and B at the same time that is at 8 in the eve. But practically this will not be the case, indeed A will experience the explosion at 08:05 as it would take 5 minutes for the earliest light to reach A, and then B experiences it at 08:10. This means that Time is not constant but the speed of light is.
If we consider Modern Physics, Gravity is defined by a Curvature or a Wrap in Spacetime Fabric. The fourth-dimensional space-time fabric is considered to be a fabric with grids in which the one represents time and the other the space. The wrap or curvature is caused by massive bodies, which determines the path that objects travel. That curvature is dynamical, moving as those objects move. Every object in the fourth dimension has its curvature which defines its gravitational mass.
Now it is believed that the mass causes the Curvature in Space-time fabric which generates Gravity and also causes Time Dilation. Time Dilation is an interesting concept that includes the basic Time travel into the future. Simply, Time Dilation is the elapsed time difference between two different clocks. It happens due to the Curvature caused by the gravity in the space-time fabric: mass ∝ Gravity ∝ Curvature or wrap in Space-time Fabric ∝ amount of Time Dilation. The mass of an object defines the depth of Wrap in the spacetime. Warp and Curvature in the Space-time are the same things. To get what time dilation is let us observe this example: There are two twins A and B, both 25 years. One goes to space as an Astronaut while the other stays on the Earth. According to the mission details, he goes to a planet named Gargantua which is very close to the event horizon of a Blackhole for doing research. He completed the Research in three years and boarded back to the Earth. He thought that He and his brother would celebrate their 29th birthday together, but when he returns he sees his brother is 89. How’s that even possible? right, but according to him he spent 3 years on the planet and returned to earth in the fourth year but due to the massive amount of time dilation the Earth experienced 60 years. But why does this happens? to understand this just keep reading the article
So, the flow of time was constant with respect to the Earth and with respect to the Astronaut but what happened is due to a massive curvature in the space-time fabric of Blackhole the biological time of the Astronaut slowed down. With respect to the astronaut, the Earth has experienced the same amount of time as experienced him, but with regard to the Earth, the time that passed was 60 years.
Now let us see why the hell time slows down in curvature for the one traveling through it but not for the Others. Let's suppose there is no curvature in the space-time fabric so the time will totally depend on the speed and the distance. Let the time taken for a person A to travel a distance d with a speed of s be t1. Now as the curvature is not visible to us and if a person B travels through the spacetime fabric with a curvature ideally with the same speed s but here distance for traveling the curvature will be added to the original distance that is d+x and the time is taken for this journey is t2. According to the laws of nature, the time for traveling should be the same for anyone if one is traveling from point a to b and at the same speed. To balance this out the relative time differs, both experience time t1 for traveling but the relative time becomes different due to which Time Dilation happens.
Does time cause gravity?, Surely, it does… or particularly does time causes wrap in space-time fabric which indeed causes gravity.
Lets us consider another universe where there is no gravity-like thing and when we will plot a graph for time vs/ gravity. Gravity is represented on the x-axis whereas time is on the y-axis and the axis of time will be continuously moving whereas gravity will remain constant and so it will be a straight line heading towards the y-axis only. Then we take time as atomic particles which are interacting with mass all over the universe. The velocity of particles of time that are interacting with a body will be less than that of the particles which are not interacting with any other body. Like the speed of water varies as the water interacts with a rock. So the differentiation of the velocities of the particles will cause torque and will make a Wrap or Curvature in Space-Time Fabric which will cause the gravity to occur. So We can conclude that time causes Gravity.
